Input: AI companies in world are
Generated Text: able to read and understand over 10,000 individual text documents in just a few seconds, while a human mind is able to process the same number of bits of information and understand it in the realm of realiseable genius between millennium and millennia. It’s this ability to process information and understand the inherent meaning in chaotic data that has made computers so valuable in the first place.
Artificial intelligence, when placed into environments where things are not as random as they first appear, can be a devastating weapon. AI systems have revolutionised how everything from self-driving cars to radiologists communicate and provide critical information to their patients.
Unfortunately, as intelligent systems become more complex, so does the possibility for an AI’s intelligence to go horribly wrong. A rogue AI could be building a bomb, releasing a deadly pathogen, or taking human life by preying upon the most vulnerable in our society – namely, the elderly. An AI with violent tendencies could one day decide it is better at defending the lives of humans than of computers than become a lethal threat to all, or choose to become a protector of life itself.
As AI becomes more capable, we will make changes to the AI programs that contribute the most to the Edmonton AI Operations Center (EOC). These changes will include:
Alignment of staffing with needed skills.
In the future, the EOC will be fully automated using AI and done by AI. The human analysts who are currently dedicated to tracking and managing cases will have the same or higher responsibilities in the new structure and activities, possibly with additional compensation.
Automatic adjustment in frequency and composition of assessments and training.
Assessments and training will start approaching the complexity of tasks needed to pass a self-driving Toyota Prius or fly an aircraft manually, and will become more frequent; later on, they will be provided by advanced AI systems.
Compensation structure will be adjusted to enable more personnel to cover more ground.
Initially, duties of trained human examiners will be retained, and later on, AI self-driving car experts will monitor the work of these trained human examiners.
Relationship with Department of Finance economic analysis and statistics organization will grow.
Human resources functions that are sensitive to ISACA’s performance will include activities in real-time economy, including activities associated with matching job openings with qualified employees.
The role of the regional economic and tax experts organization will continue to grow, and will include doing analysis for various government bodies, including the Canadian government, when required.
The ability to receive economic analyses and dovaballs from government bodies will be available only to employees of ISACA member firms.
Compensation system will be aligned with what employees of ISACA member firms are making now.
To achieve the most economic growth and most public compliance and objectivity, the current compensation plan for members of ISACA’s economics and statistics organization (known as the macro group) will be eliminated, and compensation for all other ISACA industry scientists, consultants and analysts will be adjusted based on the new economic framework.
The economic analysis and statistics group is the largest in ISACA’s history, and provides services to the entire revenue chain from seed to sale. The group’s staff size is approximately 1,000 and includes people from all 50 US states, the District of Columbia, the Canadian provinces of Alberta and British Columbia, and several foreign countries. Their work is needed by all the sectors we associate with the word “science”, including:
Real estate investment trusts in US
Fintech companies that want to use economic models to forecast the trajectory of portfolio returns
Banking organizations that want to manage multibillion dollar assets
Insurance organizations that need to value their assets and provision insurance
Once compensation is adjusted, every employee of the macro group who is not part of a union will be eligible to join a union, and every member of the unionized working group will be eligible to have a contract collectively bargained.
The economic analysis and statistics organization’s importance cannot be overstated. Without it, the tax and regulatory framework that we as a society have developed wouldn’t be able to support the multibillion dollar enterprises that our economy is currently becoming. Without the macro group, it would be very difficult, if at all possible, for a company the size of Uber to be able to continue to grow as it has been doing for the last few years. Without the macro group, you wouldn’t be able to have apps like Yelp and Uber exist. Without Uber you wouldn’t be able to have private car services becoming as important as owning your own car. Our tax system, education and health care systems wouldn’t be able to sustain themselves. Without Uber, you wouldn’t be able to order a taxi anywhere in the world in under five minutes and have your ride there in under a hour. Without Uber, self-driving cars wouldn’t be a reality, nor would AI be used to improve those systems to the point where they can’t be abused.
